Mondays are for Dreaming: Home!
So often am I dreaming of trips we have taken or trips I want to take, that I forget to live in the moment and cherish the sweet little hamlet we call home! As I had written in a previous Monday Dream (White Christmas), I was dreaming of snow. And snow we have. Not because we headed off to the chilly north, but because it came to us here in Atlanta.
Even before the snow started last night, most metro area schools and businesses had been closed for today. Strange to see so many closings, yet dry, clear streets. But once the snow started to come down, it came down FAST! By ten-thirty, we were inflating rafting tubes in order to sled down our street. The second I had managed to blow up the tube, I jumped in it to take a test run down the driveway, despite being barefooted and pajama clad. I headed in to properly attire myself, then we spent time sledding on the hills in front of our house, then all the way down to the beach. We finally came in around midnight.
This morning, we headed back out into the snow as soon as we got up. A crowd had gathered up the street for some sledding fun. In and out all day, playing in the snow, a real snow day for the kids!
This is an entry for Mondays are For Dreaming at Mother of All Trips.

I’ve always loved how snow can transform a familiar place into something unknown and magical – especially, I imagine, when snow is far from typical! I was wondering what it was like to be down South today. Thanks for sharing.
