Mondays are for Dreaming: Knowing When to Divert the Flow

As I sit here, watching the sun rise over the Atlantic Ocean, I am having a difficult time dreaming of being anywhere else at the moment. Despite the frigid temperatures, the beach is still the place I dream of the most. I love visiting and learning about other places, of course, but the beach is where I breathe most deeply.

However, I have another dream in mind this morning as I crane my neck to watch the sun come up. I find that I am prone to preach to the kids and everyone else that we should “go with the flow”, which usually seems to work in making us all have a good time together as a family. However, the times that I “don’t” go with the flow seem to always be the wrong times to dig my heels in. I would love to find more balance for myself in knowing when to speak up and ask for a change of plans or for clarification.

Maybe then, I will be able to have a room where I don’t have to crane my neck to see the sun rise and can then manage to breathe even more deeply.
