Two weeks ago, the girls and I headed down to Orlando with friends to see Harry Potter World. When planning the trip, I spent some time looking at various hotels near Universal Studios. I checked out quite a number of them on TripAdvisor and in the end decided the best place for us to stay on this trip was The Point Orlando Resort.

Located about a mile from the park, with free shuttle service, the under $100 a night rate was perfect. Each suite had a full-sized, fully equipped kitchen, living room with couch and dining table, a separate bedroom, a large bathroom with jacuzzi tub and separate shower, and a washer and dryer.

The girls loved having a large fridge, which I stocked with lots of good snacks from the Publix down the street. They also had a great time swimming in the big pool and watching some Disney channel in the late evening.

When we arrived, the rooms assigned were on the ground floor overlooking the parking lot. We asked to be changed and were given very nice rooms up on the fifth floor. Security was visible; one night a light was left on in our friend’s car, and they called to let us know.

All in all, I’d be happy to stay there again and recommend the place to others!
