I woke as the sun came up around 5:30. The scenery had changed drastically from when I had fallen asleep. We rolled on past field after field. Chloe woke quite a bit later and went to have breakfast in the dining car with the rest of the family. We arrived at the Ankara Train Station just before 8am. We were met by a taxi van; the driver stopped at the main gate at the university (Bilkent) and picked up our apartment keys for us.

The apartments each have a kitchen, large living room, kitchen and two bedrooms. We took a little time to unpack, and I had some coffee. We then headed down the hill to explore a bit. The fields are full of wildflowers! We ended up at the shopping center and explored the various stores, ending up in the huge grocery store where we bought food for dinner and breakfast as well as some supplies. Some of us took a taxi up the hill; others walked. At the apartment, we had a lunchtime snack and then Rob and the girls took naps while I worked on photos and blogs.

Barbara went off to her meeting and bought some more supplies before coming back and cooking tortellini for dinner. We held a Turkish Delight taste test, and the box we bought at the Spice Market in Istanbul was much better than the box from the grocery store.
