Following a frenetic morning of working and packing and cleaning and watering, the girls and I are on the road again! I swear can feel my blood pressure drop 50 points when we get in the car and head out on a road trip.

We didn’t get very far before we stopped for the night in Mississippi. There were no rooms at the (Fairfield) Inn where we usually stay, but I found a room in another Fairfield nearby. While it takes away from the adventure of the unknown, I appreciate the familiarity and predictability while I’m working while traveling. I’ve stressed enough in my life over not being able to work on the road, and these days I do what I can to eliminate the variables.

The girls are happily swimming in the pool while I put my feet up after an afternoon behind the wheel. The trip was mostly uneventful. No traffic jams, other than the one caused by the house taking up the entire highway in Birmingham.

I’m not quite certain what Chloe packed for clothing. I peeked in her suitcase this evening and believe it to be completely filled with stuffed animals.
