what would you do if you had a week to yourself? i can’t remember the last time that’s happened to me. but it is fun to imagine. what would i do? travel to far off places? Nope. I’d prefer to go to those places with my family. spend the time at home? Not really. i’d end up feeling like I should organize some room or something. Until today, I really had no idea. Today, I discovered an idea.
after i was done with work for the day, we headed out to the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC. This school is awesome! We were giving permission to wander around the large campus and observe the various classes that were in session. We got to see people making rustic chairs out of twigs and branches, glass beads, metal boxes, ceramic pots and bread (yum!). We had a look in the gardens, craft shop and history museum. The scenery is gorgeous and the people, teachers and students, were excited about their work and thrilled to show it off to us.
Maybe one day I’ll get that week o myself and will head of to folk school to take a class such as “Self-expression in Nature Photography” or “Taking Cotton from Plant to Fabric” or “Home Cheese Making” or “Beginning Guitar” or or or ….
