MississipiiLast Wednesday (was it really almost a week ago?), I spent the morning working. Then packing. Packing for our trip to Texas. To visit family. Or maybe really to go to the Austin City Limits Festival, since both my mom and sister were in other cities.

Packing has gotten to be quite easy. The girls still do forget one thing or another each time, but overall it is a smooth process. And we are bringing less and less each time. We ended up with one small suitcase, a cooler and three backpacks … sure makes it easier to stop at a hotel for the night.

Welcome to TexasI decided that even though we can make the trip in one day, we’d break up the trip so I could work mornings and drive afternoons. We took our time, stopping at random places like the Target in Oxford, AL to pick up new water bottles. And at the Texas Welcome Center to take a photo. And, of course, we stopped at Chloe’s favorite gas station and took a photo of her favorite sink. The girls spent the trip working on their homeschooling, reading and playing a little bit on their DSes. We also listened a bit to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Nothing too remarkable about the trip, apart from seeing the trailer full of sweet potatoes. Took us a while to figure that one out!
