While planning our trips to DC, the girls were insistent that we not head to DC until we had participated in the Pine Lake Easter Egg Hunt. So we booked plane tickets to head up to DC in the afternoon AFTER the hunt.
Even though we had stayed up to after midnight the night before because of the tornado warnings, the girls were up and ready to go down quite early! We had a little breakfast at the beach house, then it was time for the hunt! The turnout was a little low, but not nearly as low as I had expected it to be. The toddlers scoured the beach to find all their eggs. Thankfully, it wasn’t bitter cold and everyone had a blast!
The bigger kids had a huge area to cover and not so many of them turned out, so they all collected 75+ plus eggs. Eggs in pockets, hoods, bags, hands. Fun!
