As the “religious conservatives” that I know don’t celebrate Halloween, the “pagans” don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. At our house, we take any excuse to have a little party. St. Patrick’s Day for us is not about casting the “snakes” from Ireland, but instead a celebration of Ireland, pagan roots and all.

Last Friday, we had a “St. Patrick’s Day” themed potluck at our house. I made “Green” foods and scalloped potatoes. I also provided Guiness and Irish Creme. Using the Wii, I created an Irish slideshow with photos from Ireland and Celtic music. Unfortunately, the Wii couldn’t read the jpegs created by scanning photos, so my best photos were not in the slideshow.

This week, we had green eggs and hash browns for breakfast. I know it isn’t an Irish breakfast, really, but it was what I had handy.
