I don’t know why, but last month I just felt like I needed to get to the beach. The endless sky, endless ocean meeting at the horizon was something that I was in need of. I had thought of going to Mexico or Key West, but decided it would be better to stay much closer to home, based on work commitments and travel commitments. So, with advice from a friend, I booked a hotel room in Myrtle Beach. as I looked at the room prices, I saw that an ocean front suite was well within our budget. It also met my requirements of available wi-fi and indoor pool. The indoor pool is not in the building but on the campus. Free buffet breakfast was also a big plus.

We got to the hotel around 3pm and checked-in easily. Our suite is ocean front on the 15th floor. Better yet, it is on the east side of the building, so I can see the sunrise from my bed. Two tvs, a table and four chairs, a desk, a couch, a separate bedroom, a shower with windows overlooking the ocean. After unpacking out bags and getting organized, we headed down to the beach.

Though the beach was a bit windy, it wasn’t too cold to have fun looking for shells and dodging the waves. We stayed out on the beach for a very long time. Then we went in, cleaned up and went to the manager’s reception where the girls got goldfish and Shirley Temples. Sweet. We made dinner in our microwave and watched some tv before bed.
