The girls were emotional at saying goodbye to Gazoo as we left. Nothing exciting happened on the way to out plane Rob got us some coffee at Starbucks; I guess we will probably not get good coffee for a while?

The girls settled into the plane, but started getting bored as we were something like #20 in the cue to take-off. Once in the air, they were very happy too watch kid movies, play games and more on the “On Demand” screens. Chloe listened to the iPod a little and Camille did some reading on “Hermione.” I watched a whole selection of movies including “Michael Palin’s New Europe”, “The Other Boelyn Girl”, “The Kite Runner”, “Definitely, Maybe”, “THe Spiderwick Chronicles”, “27 Dresses” …

We had two dinners. Camille loved her soba noodles; Chloe was still nursing her first dinner when the second arrived. The flight attendant said she broke a record in the slowest eater ever.

It was the longest AND shortest day. While in the air, we crossed the date line, flipping us to the 14th, but we never actually had a night. So our Saturday was short, but we had no night between it and Sunday. Weird.

So Japan Trip, Day 1 started in the air.

Did you like the Spiderwick movie? I enjoyed the books, but haven’t seen the film yet.

Mmm…soba noodles. Perhaps a good dinner idea for tonight.

Yay, hope your trip is great!

It was okay. I remember the book was a lot more, of course. But it has been some time since I read the books, so I don’t know how much was different.

The movies was quite gory, action-packed and intense. Not something for young kids, I think. Even though the books were not bad for younger kids….
