Ugh. It is a frustration here. I don’t like to go out to eat, as it turns into such a problem! Even when the meeting organizers warn the hotel and the meeting places that there are a number of vegetarians amongst our group, the serving staff still insist that they have nothing else. The first lunch, I had green beans and fries. Yuck. The night before, a coworker took me to a very nice Tibetan restaurant that was a Parisian version of our beloved Harmony. Perfect. The next day, the meeting hotel again had the same issue again. That night, I went to a vegetarian restaurant nearby that was great.

And so on. Some get it, some just don’t. Today I went to the “canteen”. No vegetarian choices, but I had couscous and cooked carrots (gross!). I am sure the couscous was boiled in stock that was not vegetarian, as I’ve had “issues” this evening. I’m tired of trying to be a vegetarian at places that just don’t get it.

Vegetarian is challenging in some places – I know as I am as well – but consider yourself lucky not to be gluten intolerant! Way worse! 😉

And just as a note from a French native: Je suis vegetarienne (grammar: no article needed). 🙂

      Cheers,
      Catherine
