Saturday night was the Pine Lake chili cook-off. As the president of the neighborhood association, it was my job to make sure that publicity and preparations were taken care of, plus the awarding of prizes. Overall, the event was a smashing success. The beach house was crowded, but not overly so. Lots of our neighbors came out to enjoy our night of community building and great food. Camille, being her mother’s daughter, found a cozy chair and read a good book.
One year ago, the first day we had ever been to Pine Lake, was the day of the chili cook-off. The cook-off, the concert we attended and the book swap shelf in the beach house were among the things that pulled me towards this great little city that we now call home. Just consider the changes one year have brought!!!
