The girls and I got home today. As it goes, we missed Rob who is headed back to DC for the third time in a little over a week. Maybe we should just get an apartment there!

As from the very first time we entered Pine Lake a little over a year ago, my whole being lightened just turning in. We were home. We love the cabin; we love to travel. But, oh do I love to come home, especially now that we live in such a wonderful little village of eclectic, caring people.

It was sad to see the little house down the street that was destroyed by the tree the other day. Our neighbor is improving and should be out of ICU today or tomorrow. We are looking into ways to help her and to raise money to help her pay whatever bills are amounting. The community pulled together immediately and many ideas are being investigated right now. Our thoughts are with her as she recovers from a very traumatic experience.

We’re unpacking and preparing for our next adventure (the girls and I head out Sunday for the beach). In the meantime, we have a pancake breakfast on Saturday at which we will catch up with many of our neighbors.
