A couple of weeks ago, I headed over to Athens (Georgia, that is) to a kids’ music concert. By myself. Is this a sneak peak at my future? As the girls get older and I still enjoy the “kindie scene,” will I be taking more and more trips on my own? No matter, I enjoyed Kemp Jones and Daddy A Go-Go even without the girls.
This year, at least, they are looking forward to going to Austin City Limits with me again. And they are begging to return to Summer on Southport in Chicago. How many more years do I have to have such a good excuse to go to these concerts? Regardless, I am dedicated enough to go on my own without kids. I hope people don’t think I’m a kook stalking their kids. I’m not stalking the kids, just the musicians. For autographs. And photos. And more great music. I’ve convinced myself that I’m not the only person to listen to XM116 even when the kids are not at home.
