Sugar Plum Fairy
The girls are participating in the Pine Lake “Lighting of the Lake” pageant on Saturday night. It looks like it is going to be a lot of fun! And one of those reasons that we moved here, for sure!
Going Overboard
I heard about the community progressive dinner and jumped at it. That’s why I wanted to move here! But now I realize that I have to host a party, and I want the house (which all will be curious to see as it is one of the newest in this old city) to look good.
DIY Hiarcuts
Rob has been talking for years of buying a clipper so that the girls or I could cut his hair. He says it is simple and would save him money and time to have it buzzed at home. Yesterday he finally bought one and had the girls do it. We’ll hear today what kind of
Back Home
We’re home again! It was great to be in Blue Ridge with family, but it is also nice to home again. I’m slowly making my way through my to-do list of things that accumulate while we’re gone. Bills, photos, permission slips, homeschooling research, laundry and more. But we are also starting to decorate for Christmas!
Local Food?
Since my parents have been listening to Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver and I have read part of it (I didn’t finish before I had to return it to the library), we set out today to see what local food is to be had around here in Blue Ridge. We went to the local
Athens (Georgia, that is)
On Sunday afternoon, we went over to Athens. I had been close to Athens before, but not really in the city, and I was quite impressed! Everyone seemed quite down-to-earth and friendly. We saw Pam Blanchard and the Sunny Side Up Band perform at The Melting Point, a very awesome venue. We look forward to
Road Trip
The girls and I headed up to Washington DC for an XM Kids Rumpus Room concert. We got to see one of our favorites, The Hipwaders! While there, we went to the Postal Museum, Union Station, many Smithsonian Museums on the Mall and stayed at L’Enfant Plaza! It was a great weekend, and we can’t
Union Station
As in Washington DC PS. While this photo may not be really interesting, its timing is. As you can see, ten minutes later, the station became quite a zoo: Suspicious Package Stops Union Station Trains Briefly By Joshua ZumbrunWashington Post Staff WriterFriday, November 16, 2007; 4:28 PM Traffic was temporarily halted at Union Station this
Last Day of Classes
The girls had special celebrations at homeschool classes today. Chloe had her first art show and loved showing off all her varied works of art. Camille had a Roman Banquet in Living History — lounging on pillows eating olives, yum!

Camille and Chloe had some friends over to play today. The spend 4 hours outside playing their imagination game, having a great time!
With Roger Day
Today we drove to Birmingham to see Roger Day perform. We all had a great time hearing him perform live for the first time!

I think Chloe is somewhere under those bangs. She says she looks ugly with bangs and wants to grow them out …

Camille really enjoys riding her scooter on our walks. She took two bad falls on Tuesday, but that didn’t stop her from wanting to ride again on Wednesday. I think she’s going to need new wheels soon!

We’re studying Belize this week, and the girls made these Central American hats as part of their studies….

It is supposed to it freezing tonight! Our cat Betty has not been around much since the kitten came in. I got her to come in the house for a while yesterday afternoon, and then last night she came in to sleep in our bed, so hopefully she doesn’t feel completely displaced. I hope she’ll

Rob took the girls up Stone Mountain in the tram … It wasn’t too windy for Chloe, according to Chloe.
