she’s sixteen!
Each and every year, it is always “It’s so hard to believe how old she is!” But sixteen seems to be a special milestone. “Sweet Sixteen” is one of those special ages. I’m a bit self-centered about her aging. Instead of remarking on her growth, I worry about myself. Not about how old I’m getting,

atlanta: music midtown
Though it saddened us greatly, we decided that after seven-consecutive years, we would not be going to the Austin City Limits Music Festival this year. Too expensive, too much school to miss for the girls. Instead, Chloe and I decided to attend Music Midtown instead. A much shorter festival and only a MARTA ride away.

The girls and I had a nice day at home. I took time off from our hectic week to just read and relax, mostly. Jane came over for a while, and the girls had a good time. We all went to bed on the early side.

When planning our trip to Santorini, I had no idea where to stay. What would work well for me and the girls? What would be convenient to the ferry and the sites we wanted to see? After much searching, I settled on Kamari. Located on the water and not too remote. Unfortunately, I hadn’t considered

overwhelmed
If you’ve been following along with my Happiness Project, which I restarted again almost a year ago, the main focus for this year (though it wasn’t at first) is to SIMPLIFY and PREPARE. As I’ve discussed before, I have had a decade or more of feeling as though “I don’t have time for this!” whatever

photo friday: thira, santorini
After our surprise stop in Pyrgos, we finally arrived in Thira. Thira is a bigger caldera town than Oia, and all we really wanted was some dinner and maybe to see a bit of the sunset before getting on the last bus back to Kamari. We were tired from our long tourist day and weren’t
