Though it saddened us greatly, we decided that after seven-consecutive years, we would not be going to the Austin City Limits Music Festival this year. Too expensive, too much school to miss for the girls. Instead, Chloe and I decided to attend Music Midtown instead. A much shorter festival and only a MARTA ride away….

The girls and I had a nice day at home. I took time off from our hectic week to just read and relax, mostly. Jane came over for a while, and the girls had a good time. We all went to bed on the early side.

When planning our trip to Santorini, I had no idea where to stay. What would work well for me and the girls? What would be convenient to the ferry and the sites we wanted to see? After much searching, I settled on Kamari. Located on the water and not too remote. Unfortunately, I hadn’t considered…

Work and school. I headed to the Red Cross, but their computers were down, so I headed to Trader Joe’s and home. Camille stayed late for theater. I left to walk over to a women’s “networking” meeting and got home a little after 9pm.

I got the girls off to school; Rob took Phelix to daycare then went to work. The cleaning people came, so I went out to the pool deck. It was sunny and crisp, and I got all of my reading done. I grabbed a sandwich from Sawicki’s and ate out there as well. I then…
overwhelmed
If you’ve been following along with my Happiness Project, which I restarted again almost a year ago, the main focus for this year (though it wasn’t at first) is to SIMPLIFY and PREPARE. As I’ve discussed before, I have had a decade or more of feeling as though “I don’t have time for this!” whatever…

We had a typical school/work day. Chloe hung out with Jane for a while after school. I started making the fall dinner; when she got home, she helped me finish up. The girls and I enjoyed our shepherd’s pie and pumpkin bread feast. After dinner, we watched “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. Rob got…

After a morning of work and studying, I took a nap. The girls did some chores and school stuff. I worked a little more in the afternoon, then Chloe and I headed out to take MARTA to Music Midtown. Rob volunteered with the bike valet there for a while. Chloe and I heard Banks, Run…
photo friday: thira, santorini
After our surprise stop in Pyrgos, we finally arrived in Thira. Thira is a bigger caldera town than Oia, and all we really wanted was some dinner and maybe to see a bit of the sunset before getting on the last bus back to Kamari. We were tired from our long tourist day and weren’t…

Chloe and I left for Diagon Alley before everyone else and rode Gringotts together. The others showed up a bit after that. Some rides, some shopping. Camille got the sweater she had been wanting. In the early afternoon, I headed back to the hotel to get some work done while the kids stayed at the…
Living the hotel life
“Where’s the lobby?” “I don’t know.” “But you WORK here!” As I was sitting in the “food court” at the hotel enjoying my coconut tofu and veggies, an older couple asked a hotel employee where the lobby was. He had no clue – “Only worked here two days!”. They got a little testy. I jumped…
