photo friday: callaway gardens
A couple weekends ago, we camped for two freezing nights at FDR State Park, just south of Atlanta.
Part of the reason for the trip was that despite having lived in Atlanta for over a decade, we’ve never been to Callaway Gardens. So on Saturday, after thawing out and having had some breakfast, we made our way over to the gardens. In January and February, entrance is free, so the price was right!
We stumbled into a Birds of Prey show about owls that was just about to start. The girls absolutely loved seeing the owls, who flew right over our heads during the indoor show! Lunch at the cafe was pretty bad, unfortunately.
We spent time during the afternoon wandering along the trails, checking out the butterfly house and the horticultural center. I was not blown away by the gardens, but it was the dead of winter and there was not much blooming. Unfortunately, Chloe is too short for the “Treetop Adventure”, which she probably would have loved.
Maybe we’ll go back in the warmer months, but I’m not sure that we’ll want to spend the full admission.
This is an entry for Delicious Babyโs Photo Friday.
