Weekend Report
The weekend of Austin City Limits is over, and I am starting to catch back up. The girls enjoyed being back at the festival this year and loved the free ice cream from HEB!
We saw some great kids’ bands and some cool “grown-up” ones too. One thing we noted is that since the kids’ stage has many fewer people, we are always up from in front of the big speakers. So the kids end up with the loudest music. Ironic, no?
It was nice to meet up with old friends from kindie blogs and high school, and fun to hang out at the concerts with my sister. Camille had an amazing birthday, complete with cake AND pie. She had birthday wishes from the stage (thanks Ashley of The Jimmies at AKL as well as at the Family Music Meltdown. Chloe got to see her beloved Uncle Rock and even play Air Guitar with her favorite Joe McDermott.
I’m not much looking forward to the drive home, but at least my windshield should be remarkably clean. Hopefully there will be gas enough along the way to get us home with a fairly full tank, since Atlanta is still low on gas.
Can’t wait for next year!

Looks like you guys had a great time! Have a safe trip back – and as long as you fill up before you hit the metro area, you should be good…
I hear that the crisis is easing. I hope that is true, since we intend to be back around 10pm Wed. and then leave at 4pm Thur. to go to DC. So I’d like to “top off” in Atlanta before heading through the parched regions of SC and NC.
