Travel Tuesday: Weekly Favorites for 5 Apr 2011

I’ve been stuck on the couch the past four days with sciatica; I hate being grounded like this! I hope to be up and at ’em soon! But … I love what I’ve been reading out there on the web, and I’d love to share my highlights with you.

Here are some of my favorites from the week:

  As a homeschool parent who cites traveling as one of the reasons to homeschool, this post hit on so many of my own feelings and joys (and fears). It is great to know that I’m in such wonderful company!
• The Little Hip Traveler: Flying with alone with two under two? Think again……
  Wow, really! I wonder what the reasoning is behind this? Since my kids are 3.5 years apart I never encountered it, but really? If I had been on that mom’s flight, I would have volunteered to be her extra adult!
• Kids and Castles: Talking Turkey about Toilets: A Parenting Experience
  Oh man. We’ve come across these toilets in Japan, France and, no surprise, Turkey. We always look for the handicapped stall in hopes of a regular toilet. I’ve never had the skill needed!
• the talking trekaroo: Trekaroo Wins Cribsie Award for Best Family Travel Tips
  I love the Trekaroo site for finding great recommendations of places to go with the kids. This award is well deserved!
• Cool Mom Picks: Thinking about travel to San Antonio? You’ll remember the Alamo. And the food. And the roller coasters.
  WIN a trip to San Antonio!
• Wanderlust and Lipstick: What’s in Your Emergency Travel Kit?
  What great recommendations! Some I do carry already but not all. I will definitely have another look at what we carry with us in case of emergency.
