Today is National Chocolate-Covered Raisin Day.

Up at 4:30 in order to get work done. Got the kids up for school, the house picked up, the dog walked. Then it was finally time to hit the road! Because of traffic, it took a while to get to Amicalola Falls SP. I was finally on the trail a little after 11:30. It was tough going at times – I hadn’t hiked with a heavy pack before! But I made it there around 2:30. After checking in and unpacking, I took a nice shower and sat on the porch to let my hair dry. I read for a while, then went to the “family-style” dinner. After dinner, I read some more, then went to sleep early.
