Ireland Trip: Day 12
Again I was up early, this time at 4:30. I read for an hour and a half then finally fell back to sleep for a bit longer. Barbara got up and packed, then went out to find a geocache. Once that mission was completed, she went out to find her bus to the Dublin Airport to head home. The girls and I then got ourselves moving. We showered, had breakfast, packed and then read until it was time to vacate.
We dragged our bags across the river to the cafe on the Bachelor’s Walk along the river. We had a pleasant time sitting there sipping coffee and tea and watching the people walk by. From there, we decided to head over to the bubble tea place, where the girls got their bubble tea fix. Instead of taking the tram, we decided to walk. We first walked along a shopping street. When it ended, we kept walking, right into a street teeming with forklifts moving crates of fruits and vegetables around.
We then came to the playground where the girls had played the other day and took a break for a bit. We went by the Decorative Arts Museum, hoping to go to the museum store, but the museum was closed as it is a Monday. Then onto the station.
We still had some time before our train was due to leave, so the girls bought magazines and sandwiches to eat on the train. Our track came up on the departure board, and we quickly found our seats. We had two tables and eight seats all to ourselves. The trip was uneventful, yet very pleasant. As we came into Galway and got off the train, we all had a sense of having come home.
Stopping in at the Gourmet Tart Company, we picked up food for dinner, then walked up to the apartment. Quickly unpacking, we started working on the laundry right away. It took all night to do and the clothes were still wet when we were done. Rob came home from work, and we had dinner then relaxed.
