As happy as I was to get home and stay home for more than a couple days, after two weeks I knew that I needed to get away. The drudgery of being at home was getting to me. Even if I can’t get away from the homeschooling and work, a change of scenery always helps for me. Especially if we can change our scene to a beach one. Being late in the season, I was able to book us a room at the hotel we had stayed at in Myrtle Beach twice already this year. In fact, when we got there, it seemed that we were the only people on the floor — all the other rooms had their doors open and we could see that there was no one else around.

I love having an ocean front (as opposed to ocean view) room. The bedroom in the suite has sliding doors on two walls, and even the shower has an ocean front window. It is so refreshing to be able to see and hear the ocean while working and homeschooling.

It was early enough that the waterpark pool was open, and the girls loved the slides. Chloe took to the playing in the waves for the first time and declared that the “Ocean is awesome!”
