The Halloween pumpkins and flamingos have had their own posts, as has the village Halloween Party. But what about Halloween? On Thursday, we had our homeschool group Halloween Party. Chloe was not in the mood for a party and just sat with some adult friends and ate some snack food. Camille participated in the parade and other activities. Here’s Camille with one of her best friends:

On Halloween, Chloe decided finally to get dressed up in her costume; both girls assembled their own costumes from things around the house, which was nice. We headed out to meet up at the beach house for trick-or-treating around town. As we went along, the group grew larger and larger and it got darker and darker. Thankfully, we have a nice little town and there was little danger of cars whizzing down the road. In fact, the village police were with us a lot, shining lights to keep everyone safe (and also blind).

We had one minor mishap; someone stole Chloe’s pumpkin during the night. However, the next day as we drove around, we spotted in on the side of the street two blocks away, not even smashed! Apparently, one Halloween before we moved here, teens came in from elsewhere during the night and wreaked havoc, so I count us as having a successful Halloween!
