snapshots from gooney road – 16 feb 2016
Today is National Almond Day.
I got up early to take care of my projects. Just after I woke Camille, an email came in that our tour was delayed an hour due to the weather. Camille enjoyed the extra rest, and I got ahead on various things! We managed to get out of the hotel with no problem — the temperatures were no longer below freezing. We found a Starbucks near Furman, had breakfast, and relaxed for a bit. How lovely. We arrived at Furman early, but they started early, so all was good. After an information session, we headed out on a tour. Neither of us fell in love with the campus, though we appreciated the small classes and focus on undergraduate experiences. From there, we drove north (wrong way!) up to Wofford. Again, we arrived very early, but enjoyed another stretch of downtime. In the sun. 60 degrees out. Crazy weather. Another information session. But, we found another LEAD/Decatur family in the small group… Not the school for Camille most likely, but she learned more about what is out there and what she wants to look for. We raced home so Rob could have the car to pick Chloe up from ballet.
- Visited Furman University.
