book report: 9 feb 2016
No new books this week but my pile from last week is still quite large. I did manage to finish TWO books, thankfully. The Heart Goes Last: A Novel by Margaret Atwood was interesting. I never quite bought into the premise, but I enjoyed it all the same. I was sick in bed with a cold on Sunday and raced through The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins; it has been compared to “Gone Girl”, but I actually yliked it a lot more than GG!
This week, I will continue to read these along with some others….
- Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
- The Vintage Caper by Peter Mayle
- The Woman Who Walked in Sunshine: No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency (16) by Alexander McCall Smith
- The Vegiterranean Diet: The New and Improved Mediterranean Eating Plan–with Deliciously Satisfying Vegan Recipes for Optimal Health by Julieanna Hever
- Women & Money: Owning the Power to Control Your Destiny by Suze Orman
- The Red Notebook by Antoine Laurain
Still have The Old Ways: A Journey on Foot by Robert Macfarlane on my bedside table.
I am still slowly making my way through The College Solution: A Guide for Everyone Looking for the Right School at the Right Price (2nd Edition) by Lynn O’Shaughnessy and Colleges That Change Lives: 40 Schools That Will Change the Way You Think About Colleges by Loren Pope. I think soon we’ll be using all the information we’ve gleamed from these.
I keep a list of completed books on Goodreads. I also keep one here on my blog.
