snapshots from gooney road – 3 oct 2015
Today is National Caramel Custard Day.
Tried to get up early, but just had to sleep until 8am this morning. I had a lovely breakfast in the hotel dining room – appears to be an old chapel. The forecasted rain was holding off, so I headed out to explore. First stop, the Promenade de la Croisette along the beach, of course! After walking down to the west end, I turned around and headed back to the Film Festival Theatre and then up to the top of the old town. On the way back to the hotel, I stopped in Monoprix and bought groceries, gifts and a new suitcase. One stop shopping! I rested for the next couple of hours, catching up on my photos and things. In the evening, I went back out for another walk, heading back only when it started to rain. And good thing, too. The rain came down, harder and harder. And then the flooding began. Terrible floods, closing roads, taking out power and internet, and stranding people.
