photo friday: macy’s thanksgiving day parade
And finally! The reason I decided we should take at least one trip to NYC over Thanksgiving …. the parade!!
We got up early, very early. And dressed warmly. And headed to the subway to get to the UWS near Tavern on the Green. Just as we arrived at Central Park West, a gate was moved to block the street. Instant front row seating for us!!
It was a long time before the parade would start, and I had brought no real blanket. I took my coat off for us to sit on. (Good momma!) The crowd gathered as we waited and the day warmed up.
And finally, the parade! What fun to see all the balloons, marching bands, floats and people in the parade! So worth all the preparation and traveling!
As the parade ended, everyone, *everyone* hurried back to the subway. The train cars were CROWDED. Worse than Tokyo. People were telling people to wait for the next train. But the next rain would be even more crowded, wouldn’t it? So we squished our way to Times Square, then found a less packed train back to Brooklyn.
