Today is
National Fettuccine Alfredo Day and Charles Dickens Day.
Breakfast was farm eggs and waffle iron hash browns. So much easier than using the skillet – and less greasy too!
Dinner was, of course, Alfredo’s of Rome’s Original Fettuccine Alfredo. Simple and delicious. Served with greens from our farm box.
Yesterday, I overheard the teens talking about how Charles Dickens was paid by the word. Actually, that’s not quite true … According to The Dickens Project at UCSC, he was paid by the installment. Wish I had some idea of what 31 shillings 6 pence was in today’s dollars!
Cleaned out my turtlenecks as my “clothing item of the month” – I appear to have NINE! (Make that ten – just remembered the one I wore yesterday is in the hamper.) I wear all but three on a regular basis. Those three are in “special” colors that I want to keep. I did toss two earlier this month. Not a great “downsize” day, but at least I tried.
Placed our weekly Moore Farms order. Along with the greens, we’re getting strawberries(!) and farm eggs.
Ordered our Thanksgiving in NYC Shutterfly album! Brings my Shutterfly album count up to 20.
Got the girls to clean out their bathroom drawers and cabinet …. once again.
Bought tickets to see Roméo et Juliette performed by the Atlanta Ballet. I grumbled the entire time about the RIDICULOUSNESS of going to the Cobb Energy Center for this. ATLANTA is not COBB. Idiots. Swore I’d never go see the ballet or opera or braves out in suburbia, alas ….
Watched Poltergeist with Chloe. Been a long time since I’ve seen it!
