Today is National Strawberry Day and National Chocolate Cake Day and National Kahlua Day and International Polar Bear Day.
After a little work and chores in the morning, I went out and did all the errands. In the middle, I stopped at the Red Cross for a few hours of volunteering. Feels good to have dog food, a clean car, no Goodwill pile and groceries. When I got home, Phelix and I took a walk over to the Fur Side so he could get his nails trimmed (hooray)!
I made a Flourless Chocolate Cake for today’s holiday along with a baked mac and cheese.
Rob took Camille to the art place in Avondale and then Phelix to visit the dog-sitting people. Everyone had a great time. We all made it over to the high school for the Rock & Roll Revue. What fun!
Started to create my Shutterfly album for our 2003 trip to Ireland. I’m just about to the point where the digital photos are of too low resolution. My scanned pics are awful. Do I use bad pics? Scan my negatives? Quit while I can? We’ll see.
Did my Photo Friday post from Radio City Music Hall.
I read more of I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai with Christina Lamb.
Read this month’s National Geographic. From Why Do Many Reasonable People Doubt Science?: “The Internet has democratized information, which is a good thing. But along with cable TV, it has made it possible to live in a โfilter bubbleโ that lets in only the information with which you already agree.”
Furthered my language studies with Mango Languages today, moving up to Chapter 8. On Duolingo, I’m on French Level 7 and Irish Level 3 now.
Watched Shock Corridor (1963) #400 and Contempt #401 from my 1001 Movies Project.
