cooking.
I’ll easily admit it; I’m no chef. I have visions of making lovely meals. I purchase cookbooks in hopes of finding inspiration.
Over the past year, I’ve been managing to get dinner on the table more and more often despite our busy schedules. Not only that, we’ve been branching out from rotating through the three or four simple dinners we used fall back on most nights.
in addition, I’m managing to use fresher and better ingredients. While we still do rely on some packaged foods, we are preparing with local, organic produce and healthier choices for items that are packaged.
We’re not eating out or getting take-out as often. We have healthier leftovers to take for lunch.
I know all of these are positive steps. But still, I wish I enjoyed cooking more than I do. I am not inspired. I get bored doing all the chopping alone in the kitchen. I get frustrated that after spending all the time and energy planning, prepping, and cooking, I still have to do all the cleanup as well.
But yet, I know that fresh meals eaten together are good for the whole family and I will keep trying. And maybe one day I’ll find that prefect cookbook that makes it all tasty, and easy, and fun.
