she’s sixteen!
Each and every year, it is always “It’s so hard to believe how old she is!” But sixteen seems to be a special milestone. “Sweet Sixteen” is one of those special ages. I’m a bit self-centered about her aging. Instead of remarking on her growth, I worry about myself. Not about how old I’m getting, really, but about how little time I have left with her as a “kid”.
Every time we do something now, I think it might be the last time we do it as a family of four. While it seems like a long time until she will graduate from high school and head out on her own, it isn’t. I’ve got to pack in all those adventures we still haven’t gotten to yet. Visiting the White House (well, we’ve been on the lawn for the Easter Egg Roll, but the girls have never been inside). The Statue of Liberty. The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Unfortunately, the list grows instead of shrinks, and Camille just keeps getting older.
