celebrations: week 21 (19-25 may 2014)
We celebrated a few week 20 holidays including National Bike to Work Day (well, Rob did that…).
Coming up this week:
19: National Devil’s Food Cake Day and National Boy’s Club and Girl’s Club Day
20: Strawberry Picking Day and National Quiche Lorraine Day
21: American Red Cross Founded and National Strawberries and Cream Day
I have an almost complete disregard of precedent, and a faith in the possibility of something better. It irritates me to be told how things have always been done. I defy the tyranny of precedent. I go for anything new that might improve the past.
– Clara Barton
22: Buy-A-Musical Instrument Day and National Vanilla Pudding Day and Chardonnay Day
23: World Turtle Day and National Taffy Day and National Wig Out Day
Try to be like the turtle – at ease in your own shell.
– Bill Copeland
24: First Morse Code Message Sent
I would imagine that if you could understand morse code, a tap dancer would drive you crazy.
– Mitch Hedberg
25: International Geek Pride Day/Towel Day and National Wine Day and National Tap Dance Day and National Brown-Bag-It Day
A towel, [The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy] says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have.
– Douglas Adams
