Greece Trip: Day 8
Last night, we decided today would be a “slow” day. Even so, I couldn’t sleep past 7:30. While I worked on my trip photos and summaries, I let the girls sleep until almost 9. Once they were up and ready, we went down to breakfast. A large buffet of cheese, eggs, pastries, fruit, yogurt and more, even though we were the only ones in the dining area. After breakfast, we organized our stuff then read by the (empty) pool for a while before heading to the beach. Though it was cold by the hotel, the beach was hot! Chloe decided to swim, so we walked back to the hotel so she could get changed. She got in the water for two seconds – too cold!
On our way back up to the hotel, we stopped at the little tourist shop to buy snacks. In the room, we rested for about twenty minutes, then walked back down the street to catch the bus to the Fira bus statin where we waited for a bus to Oia.
In Oia, we explored the pathways through the town. Camille loved the Atlantis bookstore (mostly English language) and bought a couple books. We explored a bit more, but then Chloe got hungry/thirsty/hot/tired, so we picked a restaurant and had lupper while overlooking the caldera and the town.
After our meal, we explored Oia a bit more, then the girls had gelato. We caught the bus to Thira and then the bus to Kamari and walked up to the hotel from the bus stop where we were greeted by a very happy Elsa. By then it was almost 8pm, and we were ready to clean up and read for a while before sleeping.
