Greece Trip: Day 11
Naming this post “Greece Trip: Day 11” is a bit strange as we have left Greece behind and today traveled from Amsterdam to Decatur, but oh well.
Because of the hour difference from Greece to The Netherlands, I managed to sleep in, yet still get up early. We got the girls moving and went down to breakfast in the hotel’s bar. Chloe enjoyed having toast with Nutella *and* chocolate sprinkles as part of her breakfast.
After breakfast, we packed up and checked out of the hotel, then started to walk to the train station. Rob wanted to find a geocache, but we were running short on time and it was starting to rain, so we just went to the station. Watching all the people biking to work was interesting. Since we don’t have cards with chips, we had to go to the counter to get tickets to the airport. The train ride was uneventful, but it was lovely to see Amsterdam and the suburbs.
At the airport, we bought a few Dutch treats at the tulip store. Once checked-in, we went through into the control area. At the duty-free shop, we bought a nice selection of chocolates to take home. Near our gate, we stopped at a coffee shop for coffee. The girls enjoyed trying out the stroopwafles that I bought.
We went through security and then onto the plane. I watched FIVE movies on the flight home. Immigration and customs was super fast. We rode a bus from the international terminal to MARTA. Once home, Chloe and I ran out to go to the store, then we unpacked and did laundry. I forced myself to stay up late to try to adjust to being back home.
