Spring Break Day 8: Yerba Buena, Cherry Blossoms, Telegraph Hill
I woke early and worked on a few things, then the girls and I joined Rob for the meeting breakfast. It wasn’t very good. We then hung out in the hotel room for a while before walking over to Yerba Buena Gardens, where we explored and then Chloe played on the playground for quite a while. We then walked over to Union Square, making a brief stop at Ghiradelli for some chocolates. We looked at the art on the square before jumping on the 38L to Japantown.
In Japantown the Cherry Blossom Festival was just starting up. We went into some Japanese stores and then wandered around the festival until Camille’s online friends showed up. Chloe and I left her there, and took the bus back towards the Ferry Building. There, we eventually met up with Phil and Barbara. We walked up towards the hotel, stopping in at a very lovely toy store, where Suze and Luis met up with us.
After a short respite in the hotel room, we returned to Yerba Buena. Chloe and I got colored pencils at the City Target, then food at a creperie and a cupcake place. The others also then chose to get food. After everyone was satiated, we moved onto the carousel and the playground before getting the bus … to the top of Telegraph Hill and Coit Tower! Chloe and I rode the elevator to the TOP! We all walked down the stairs and watched the parrots, then took the F tram back to the hotel. After everyone left, the girls and I headed to Walgreens for some gifts and treats, then to Ghiradelli for amazing ice cream treats.

Was this the first time Camille met up with online friends? What did she think? Morgan has met up with a few and LOVED it.
Not quite. But the first time to meet with such a distant yet close online friend … Others she has met have been local for the most part…. or just online acquaintances whom she has then met at cons…
Gwyneth, I keep having to do a double-take seeing pictures of Camille, thinking it’s you!
