Spring Break Day 2 : Grace Potter
I didn’t sleep well because Gazoo kept getting me up. I was then up early to help Chloe and Rob get out the door a little after 6am. After a day of cleaning and getting things done, I wasn’t much in the mood to get on MARTA to head to join the crowds at Centennial Park for the Final Four “Big Dance”, but Camille really wanted to go, so we all got ourselves out the door.
When we got to Centennial Park, it was not very crowded at all. We arrived at 4:15, just as Grace Potter and the Nocturnals took the stage. After wandering around a bit, we found a spot where we could stand and prop Chloe up so she could have a little bit of a view of the stage. Grace was awesome, but the crowd was pretty lame. Nothing like being at Austin City Limits at all. Once Grace finished up, we made our way to the Ferris Wheel. While the crowd was starting to grow, we still only had to wait for about ten minutes to get our turn to ride in the Ferris Wheel – what a view!
We then stood in line to buy drinks – they were out of water (and water wasn’t allowed to be brought in from outside), but then some arrived while we were being served. After listening to Sting for a while, we made our way out of the festival and back to MARTA. I’m so glad we went, in the end.
