Spring Break Day 1 : Decatur, GA
Our first full day of Spring Break didn’t take us very far, but that didn’t meant that it wasn’t lots of fun.
While Camille, Claire and Phelix walked up to Claire’s house to get Chloe from her sleepover, I went over to the ribbon cutting for the new Decatur Visitor’s Center:
Once Camille and Chloe were back home, we headed out without Phelix to explore the goings on. First stop was back at the visitors center for a few tasty goodies, then onto Little Shop of Stories, where we chose a couple titles from the “Free To a Good Home” table:
Heading a little further, we came to the Jelly Belly Bus Tour at Greene’s Fine Foods where I was “Bean Boozled” — I was told the jelly bean might be strawberry jam flavored, but it turned out to be … caterpillar! Blech. But fun! We enjoyed the various events, not to mentioned the crazy VW Bug!
By then it was 1:30 and we were getting pretty hungry, so we stopped at Victory Sandwich Bar for some sandwiches and Spicy Sesame Ramen noodles. Unfortunately, our sandwiches took over an hour to come, and we were starting to get really miserable. The manager comped our meal after hearing how long we had to wait …
Almost 3pm, so the girls went home to walk Phelix and rest a bit while I ran to Kroger for our Redbox movie – “Rise of the Guardians”. We watched the movie in the afternoon, then headed out one more, this time to the Super Saturday event on the Decatur Square. Chloe and Camille enjoyed making some sidewalk chalk creations of their own….

A very nice day indeed! Glad Victory recognized the problem and addressed it.
Someone else posted a similar photo of the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and I was curious who the guy is (since I know everyone else pictured). The landlord? Designer? Hmmm. My friend that took the other photo had no idea.
