bonfire patrol

Last week, I stopped by the police station after our high school tour, and I was presented with a new raincoat, jacket, hat, vest, and badge. Now that I graduated from the ‘citizens’ police academy”“, I can start to volunteer at many of Decatur’s events. I haven’t had radio or traffic direction training yet, but I’m sure that will come in the future. Tonight I worked mostly as an ambassador on the square with a number of other CAPS (all of whom I know from Fire CAPS); we answered questions and directed folks. After the bonfire, we “patrolled” various areas downtown. I look forward to helping out more in the future!
