photo friday: Providence Canyon State Park
Georgia State Parks . photo friday . Plains Region Article
“We’re not in Georgia anymore.” Had I not known better, I would have agreed. As it was, we were still in Georgia, in the canyons of Providence Canyon State Outdoor Recreation Area.
The canyons, formed by “poor farming practices during the 1800’s”, reveal the hidden beauty of the underground layers. The trails down to the canyon floor and then up each of the smaller canyons is easily hike-able, even if a bit muddy. We enjoyed walking the creeks up to the origin of each of the nine canyons, finding tucked away pockets of interesting formations and vegetation.
This is an entry for Delicious Babyโs Photo Friday.

Definitely hard to believe that those photos were taken in Georgia! The Spanish moss is really cool – I have heard it described but never seen a picture of it before.
How odd that it was formed by human interaction. Looks like millions of years of erosion and natural forces!
