Delta’s “Bait and Switch” Smells Rotten to Me
I hate Ticketmaster. I seriously hate Ticketmaster. But tonight I offered them up as a reasonable alternative to the Rotten, Stinky dishonest bait-and-switch game that Delta says is within their rights.
Just for the heck of it, I looked up flights to NYC tonight. I was pleased to see flights for $180 round-trip per person. I decided to go for it. I got to the passenger information/payment method screen:
I took a couple minutes to type everything in and double-check my info. All good. Purchase clicked…. and
“We’re sorry.” Yadda yadda Yadda.
Try again. Now the price on the flights is $284 per person before taxes instead of $180. WHAT?
Try to call Delta, get the runaround.
Customer service gave lip service. “It clearly states on the site.” Blah blah blah.
You offered me that price. You ought to honor it. Or rethink your online reservations so as to not have irate customers.
I suggest that you have “a hold” for tickets. If I am offered a price, and get to entering information, HOLD THOSE SEATS for ten minutes so I have a chance!
But, alas, I really feel like Delta has played a shell game on me. Bait and Switch.
