a knocker downer
holiday Article
Our family joke when we see a house that is collapsing in on itself is that it isn’t a “fixer upper” but that it is a “knocker downer”. Each year, the girls and I make a different gingerbread creation, such as a gingerbread tree, gingerbread village, etc. (all from kits, I’m not that creative).
And on January 6th each year when we are taking down the rest of the Christmas decorations, the girls nibble on the creation a bit, then toss the remainder out for the squirrels and birds. As we no longer have any yard to speak of, I disassembled the house, but now I don’t know what to do with the walls of the house. Trash? Pie crust? Sneak it to a park and leave it for the overfed critters?
