Uh oh. Having been home for two weeks straight, eating better (it’s the blueberries, gotta be the blueberries), and, perhaps, the arrival of a taste of spring have brought me loads of energy. I’m getting all my usual things done with lots of energy to spare. With this energy and time, I’ve been tackling all sorts of projects around the house. I completed a Room of the Week (the guest “suite”, the girls’ bathroom, the upstairs hallway). I tackled the creeping crud in the car (found a canister of FILM and a toddler favorites cassette). I shredded a year’s worth of receipts and emptied the shredder twice. I organized all our radio music, weeding and alphabetizing. I ripped the seven Harry Potter books into iTunes (almost 100 CDs). The garage is looking more like a garage than a storage unit as I take bags of stuff to the free pile each week. And now we’re on to organizing the DVDs and DS and Wii games. I’m contemplating my next organizational/decluttering/reduction project now that the obvious ones are done. Chloe won’t let us tackle her room until March. Maybe I’ll work on books. I’m ready to let go of my collections. Larry McMurty anyone?

But, I think the girls are almost longing for my previous lethargic state. Going through all the piles and sorting is WORK! They’d rather just play and knit and read and make messes… But now, it is time to head out for a walk around the lake…beofre tackling those piles of DVDs and video games!
