the hardest part of the journey?
Getting to the airport.
Atlanta was shut down today for a third day in a row. Our street is a sheet of ice. Thinking ahead, we decided to move the car up to the top of the hill mid-afternoon yesterday when the ice was slightly slushy. So, this morning, we headed out, dragging our suitcases up the icy street to the car.
The roads were icy. We were stuck behind a line of cars going SO slowly. We finally made it to the MARTA parking lot and slipped and slided our way into the station and onto the chilly platform.
Once we were on the train, the trip was smooth instead of slippery. We arrived at the airport with lots of time to spare. Security was simple (thank goodness). We found veggie-rich foods at the food court in the terminal. The plane was a little late leaving — one flight attendant arrived late (I think he tried to drive to work). Smooth flight, easy transition to taxi and then into our hotel room. The internet was easy to access (and FREE!). The girls changed quickly and got in the pool immediately. We had the entire pool deck to ourselves — where is everyone? Still stuck in the snow?
