Photo Friday: Tellico River
Sunday evening, at my mom’s cabin in North Georgia, I turned on my work computer for the first time in a week. Just for the heck of it, I checked the 2011 holiday calendar. Just imagine my surprise and joy at finding out I had one more day off! Taking advantage of my reprieve, we headed off on a little adventure on Monday. I had been wanting to see the Cherohala Skyway, so we headed up to Tellico Plains, southwest of Knoxville. We decided to take a side route, River Road, to see more of the Tellico River and the waterfalls.
Unfortunately, the side route ended in a construction area dead end, so we had to backt6rack, leaving us with no time to see the Cherohala Skyway. Maybe next time.
There appear to be many beautiful campgrounds along the river — camping anyone?
This is an entry for Delicious Baby’s Photo Friday.

Brr! I am kind of glad that we decided to stay warm in Florida (and that the weather cooperated) this year when I look at all these cold weather pictures!
Ha! Did you see our photos from Florida between Christmas and New Year’s ?? Brrrrrr, but fun to be at the beach, nonetheless. I hope it will be a bit warmer there next week when we are in Fort Lauderdale!
what gorgeous photos!!
We’re going to be in North Georgia in April! We’ll have to check out Bald River Falls! Thanks!
We spend our time up in NGa taking day trips from Blue Ridge – there’s quite a lot to do up there! My husband really wants to go on one of the zipline “tours” at some point.
thanks for the fine shots — I’ve been to the Tellico River in winter, and this brings back great memories.
