Photo Friday: Fort Lauderdale Wildlife

When swimming at the beach, sea life tends to make me a little nervous. Crabs nipping at my toes, little fish who like to nibble at me, jellyfish ready to sting.

But what swam up to Camille last week was something I’d never have expected — manatees!! Unfortunately, she was paying attention to jumping in the waves and had no clue that three manatees had passed within arms’ reach of her. Sigh.

Chloe was so amazed … she ran down the beach following the sea cows and watched as they surfaced and dove back under the waves. We saw a couple more manatees come by later — Chloe loved it! I wished I had a better lens.
