My girls have been accompanying me on shopping trips since they were born. They learn fairly early on not to ask me to buy something while we are at the store, since my answer will almost always be “No.” But not always … if they have a good reason, I listen to it, but I do not tolerate begging and whining.

Before we headed out to the grocery store the other day, Chloe asked for two things. And I said maybe. She asked again when we got there, and I said yes. How can you turn down a kids who obsesses over fruit?
