San Antonio Overnight
We were so tired from our walk along the Museum Reach section of San Antonio’s Riverwalk and SAMA, we all just wanted to crash at a restaurant, rest our feet and have some food. I veto a fru-fru Mexican place (tuna margaritas?) and ended up at at Rita’s on the River, where we had a generic Tex-Mex dinner. Typical food, poor service, but we all felt much better afterwards!
Refreshed and back up at street level, we walked a couple of blocks to The Alamo, and then two more blocks to our hotel, the Residence Inn San Antonio Downtown/Alamo Plaza. Overall, he hotel was nice enough. We had booked last minute and found what I think is a good deal — $109 a night for the four of us in a studio room, which had a full kitchen (not that we used it) and a pull out couch, which we did use. As there was no wi-fi, my mom and I had to fight over the ethernet connection. Strangely, the room had no dresser!
Our tenth story room afforded us a very nice view of fireworks coming from somewhere over near the Rivercenter Mall as well as of the interstate…oh well.
In the morning, the girls loved the free breakfast buffet — Texas shaped waffles! We fueled up for another full day of walking!
