Photo Friday: Gone To Texas
On Tuesday afternoon after a morning of work and packing, the girls and I jumped in the car for our annual pilgrimage to Texas. I love the drive across Texas from Louisiana to I-35 via Tyler and Corsicana. There’s no interstate there, so we drive a four (and sometimes two) lane road though dusty Texas towns and field after field. The wide open skies allow me to breathe more deeply. The landscape and vegetation are different, and therefore interesting. It’s the part of the 900 mile drive that I love the best!
Like our trip to Massachusetts two weeks ago, this trips serves a double purpose, family and music. Here in Texas, we are staying at my parents’ house and going to three days of music fun at Austin City Limits. This is our fourth year going to ACL, and we hope that this year is cooler than all the rest and certainly drier than last year’s! While the family we’re seeing and the concert we’re going to are different, we’ll actually be seeing a number of our “music friends” whom we saw up in Northampton this weekend as well.
This is an entry for Delicious Baby’s Photo Friday.

We are fairly new (a little over a year) residents of Texas, and I love driving around the state. It really is different from any other place I’ve lived.
Lovely pictures!
These are great photos. Sights worth the 900 mile drive!
Great pictures! Especially love the fossils from the river. Cool!
i love these photos – such unique angles, such as the flower from underneath. but what really makes me happy? the family dinner!
Oh, the views! And the interesting finds. Wonderful.
I loved the flower photo…the different angle makes it really striking. And those river fossils are great–the one in the foreground looks like a cool little mummy ๐
